More increasingly when we are preparing and consuming meals, we have to take into account food allergies and intolerances. Two of the more common food intolerances result from the consumption of gluten and dairy. Food intolerances can build up over time, often it is a reaction to the quantity being consumed rather than one specific food. Processed foods frequently use wheat and dairy as cheap fill and it can be difficult to exclude these foods unless you read every label in the supermarket……....
An alarming trend has hit the fitness industry, inexperienced and some slightly more experienced trainers are trying to sell themselves by prescribing their clients “functional exercises” as the latest training technique/trend for all training goals. Functional exercises when prescribed correctly can play an important role in the development of basic movement patterns, specific skill/movement development and exercise rehabilitation. So whilst it seems great that functional exercises are being prescribed, the problem lies in that the definition of functional exercises has been grossly misinterpreted by so many trainers.....
